I spent a couple of days in Belgrade, but I just couldn’t find anything to love about it. Granted, it was a very rainy and cold visit, but to me it felt quite oppressive, with more than it’s fair share of brutal soviet architecture, the food wasn’t great, and it was frankly quite boring.

I looked around the fortress and the military museum, but they were a bit unmemorable. The one real stand out for me was the Nicola Tesla Museum, which actually was quite exceptional!

I’m told there’s a great night life in Belgrade, but I was travelling with a child, so I didn’t get to see that side of the city. I realised after I’d left that I’d only taken one photo during the entire trip, which is why there’s a shot of Tesla in the featured image!

I’m sorry Belgrade, but it’s a no from me.

On aunty duty on a rainy Belgrade afternoon. Took my nephew to the park – supervised from the pub; bought him a lemonade and packet of crisps. Nailed it.
