I need to confess up front that I didn’t do Sweden justice. It was a meeting point for a tour elsewhere, so there wasn’t much time to have a proper look round, and it was Christmastime, so it was cold and snowy and a bit touristy.
But I was pretty excited to be able to look at the Gamla Stan (old town) and to walk through the narrow streets and alleyways of the mediaeval part of the city, but particulalry to visit the spectacular Vasa Museum, housing the 17th century war ship which sank in Stockholm harbour in 1628 before being salvaged from the mud in 1961.

So, you won’t be surprised to know that I found myself in Stockholm on one of the two days a year that the Vasa Museum is closed 🤣😂
But I did have a good look round the city and I’m sure there’ll be a return visit, so here are some photos in the meantime.

And I ate a lot of meatballs. See you next time Sweden. Bork bork.
